Cool !! 8703e integration into BES 4.0 !! issue

Please Login to Remove!

This problem I'm going to describe also happened with our 7520 blackberries.

Before integration into the bes, the phones seem to have "SMS" reply capability, and "SMS" creation to phone # capability.

After integration into bes, the SMS features seem to dissapear.

wtf is going on?

SMS is probably being disabled by the IT Policy that is placed on the device after BES activation.

IT Policy > Device-Only Items > Allow SMS = False

Set it to True if you want to re-enable SMS.

Thanks for the response. This is done on the bes 4.0 box yes? Are users able to turn it on from the phone, if they realize it can be turned on, if they notice it is off? Or only on the bes? Im hoping only on the bes. ... ...

IT Policies can only be changed on the BES. The user won't be able to enable this feature themselves.
