Default Two steps left

Two steps left:
1. Device Initialization.
2. Restore Device Data.

Note: For a brief second I saw the "507" icon but it went away as fast as it came up and the software continued to load.

Success! OS v4.5.0127 (Platform 3.4.0.20) is installed. Now to play with it and see what (if any) issues I get. The longest part of the process was the last two steps. The installation instructions on this site are absolutely spot-on and made for a very easy installation.

Default Doc's to Go

Am I supposed to see an icon on the main screen. I see one for Voice Notes (that's new) but I don't see one for Doc's to Go. During installation that box was unchecked. Was I supposed to select that? I chose the typical installation.

I didn't choose Docs2G either. I like the voice notes app. I really like the look and feel of 4.5 for all applications. I'm finally enjoying what all the others using betas have been enjoying for some time now!

Default Re-install?

Would the only way to get it on the device be to re-install the OS? I'm thinking that may be the case. I didn't see the option available when I connected to the DM 4.7 software in the application loader.

Thanks for your feedback.

Default Good News!!

All I had to do was run the loader.exe file again and chose Documents to Go. It loaded the applications on my device and they are there now. Very cool and very fast! I am now completely happy!

When you get a chance, tell me what you think about Docs2Go. And what you are using it for.

I find Docs To Go very useful, Being able to edit Word Docs is pretty nifty especially on the go where ever I am.. I haven't found a use for Slides to go yet since I'm not a big powr point person but I do use Word/Sheets go a couple time a week.

I've got my resume on my media and I use sheets to go manage some expenses. (Gas, food, etc).

I like 4.5, but do you find that your phone is a bit more sluggish now?

Default 8830 performance with 4.5 & Doc's

I could not be happier with this upgrade. The browser loads much faster and the cursor movememt is so fluid. I did have to re-add contacts to my email and text groups but that was the worst of it. I was asked earlier why I want to use Doc's to go and here's why... I have 25 employees I supervise and I keep performance data and other work associated files. The media player enhancements are very nice and I enjoy the voice memo's. Very cool. I went to themes4bb.com and bought the BB Storm Theme for 4.5 and my phone looks great. I know this is a long reply but I felt this was important. Lastly, this post was done from my device. Go 4.5!

Docs to GO did an Over-the-air update (2MB!) after I ran my 8830 for the first time after installing the official 4.5.0.127 OS.

So far so good...the OS is not sluggish, and I haven't seen a memory leak as yet.

Problems with Bell Upgrade

I had the same lock-ups when I briefly tried the .77 beta. The phone would freeze in any and all applications. I went back to 4.2. NOW I am having the same behavior again with this BELL upgrade.

Since most folks are not reporting such problems, I suspect it is one of the many applications I have installed that is causing it. I don't know if it is the Theme or something else. I should compile a list of apps and post them and let people suggest which might be causing the issues.

YUP, locked again after automatically turning on, allowing me to see STATUS and then going to standby. It would not wake up without using the ON/OFF switch and still that only lights it up - otherwise -frozen!

I was using the Today Theme. I just went to the L-theme and see how that works. NO! And the 3-finger reboot does not work. And with an Otterbox, battery pulls are NO fun!

Why would it WANT the sim card? It should not be mandatory in an 8830 - or is it required for BELL? How does one tweak how the 8830 looks for networks?
