Dear All,

My provider told one of my user that it is possible to have a secondary e-mail id configured with a Blackberry if it is not disable by a policy?

My BES environment is 4.1 for Exchange.

Is secondary e-mail a new feature in 5.0? I haven't read about it. If it is possible now, does it work with any e-mail ID (Gmail, Hotmail) or only with a secondary Exchange id?

If you Blackberry is provisioned with BIS + BES by the carrier, you can add up to 16(?) other mail accounts using BIS.
BIS works with pop, imap or OWA. You only get email this way, but this should be sufficient in most cases.
This works with any email account which is accessible over the internet with the protocols above.

There is no official method to add a second email adress hosted on a different BES, and, there is not way I know to add a second email address hosted on the the same BES server (unless you access it using BIS).

Okay thank you for this information. I didn't know that BIS + BES was possible. I asked my carrrier Swisscom and they offer it, I had to request a special PLUS option which is not an additional cost.
