Default Pearl 8130 used in Europe?

Please Login to Remove!

I am going to make a trip to Europe (Romania) this summer, and I was wondering whether I could use my Pearl 8130 (Verizon) over there. They're on GSM, so I was thinking maybe I could buy a pre-paid SIM card with a random number on it. I don't care to make transatlantic calls, just within Romania.

Thanks

Well verizon doesn't use sim cards unless i have missed something. So I don't think your plan will work.

The 8130 is CDMA only, and will not work in Europe.

The Verizon 8830 is the only Verizon BlackBerry that will function overseas, as it does support GSM in Europe.

Default Thanks.

Thank you guys. Too bad, I'll have to buy a cheap-o GSM when I get there.

Hmmm... Raven, thanks for that link. I'll check out Verizon's Global Rental service. Good find.

There are other rental companies out there like roadpost.
But if all you need to voice service go with the prepaid sim & phone route...
