Default Copying Contacts to SIM?

Please Login to Remove!

I've searched around and have found nothing yet but I'm trying to figure out how to can copy all my contacts from my device to the SIM card. I looked through my SIM and it seems like doesn't save my new contacts that I've added to the address book. Any idea?

Thanks!

No, the BB saves contacts to your Address Book. You will need to copy your contacts one at a time to the SIM card, one phone number at a time, no email addresses etc.

Phone Dialer screen > View contact > hover over a number > Copy to SIM Phone book.

If you are changing BlackBerrys or phones there could be an easier way to do this, if you could explain your actual need/end purposes.

I guess this works if you don't have that many entries. I have over 300 contacts in my address book -- not sure how many phone numbers that equtes to since many have more than one. No way I would try to copy to the SIM. I simply won't buy a phone any more that won't let me sync my full Outlook contact list.

The SIM card will only hold 250 names/numbers anyway. I have all 50 or so of mine stored on the SIM card and anytime I enter a new one, it's stored to the SIM card right away. If something happens and my phone won't power up at least I'll have that information backed up and available right away.

I do sync my BB with Outlook. I was commenting to the guy who said to just copy each entry to the SIM as you add it. That doesn't work for everyone. I haven't bothered storing contacts to the SIM in a long time....it's far too limiting for me.

I've been mulling the same issue. The biggest reason i wanted them on the sim was so they wouldn't be lost if the phone bonks. But now with the Outlook sync'ed, and backed up, i have 'em anyway [738 of them actually, so i feel your pain.]. I've just come to terms if the phone dies, i can restore them thru the outlook function. It would obviously be different if i was using several phones or travelling overseas...

seriously, is there a reason for only allowing contacts to be copied one at a time, and not all at once? it's possible the other way around...

or better yet, is there an option where any time when you enter an address, it automatically saves into the SIM instead of the phone? even my old free Nokia phone had this, surprising a $500 retail "smart" phone can't.
