If this still doesn't work, you might want to test out the attachment service on the BES with a docx file.

I documented this a few posts back. The test direct on the attachment server is fine. For some reason, the 7100 opens the doc or docx, but does not render the text.

I'm sure glad that I was not the one that made the decision to deploy Office 2007 into production.

I installed the update to get us to BES 4.1.4. On my 7130e and 8103e I can open xls, xlsx, doc, docx, ppt and pptx. So it looks like they are opening fine.

Smile Follow up to current thread

I am new to this forum, and apologize for my ignorance as I do not have a BB. At my organization, we are currently testing Office 07 & Vista right now and are stumbling upon this exact problem. If I send a document which was created & edited in 03, there are no problems whether or not I send it via Outlook 03 or 07, however if I create in 07, save in compatibility mode and try to send they get unrecognizable format error message. The error occurs regardless of whether I send via Outlook 03 or 07. I guess that means the issues is with the Word file and not how Outlook handles it. My question is this.. we have numerous models to include 7250/7750/7130e/8870/8700/8300/8830 and I need to find out if they all need to be at 4.2? Similarly, I guess we need to make sure our BES is at 4.1.04? I am not sure what version we are currently at but might be 3.6 or 3.8.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

eep, time to upgrade!

I have an 8703e and a 7250 with no problems at all ... both at 4.1 software. I use Office 2007 and save as 2003 compatible all the time and have no problem with BES 3.6 ... i think its SP6
