Where Did All These Apps Come From?
Please Login to Remove!
I did a battery pull this morning and all of a sudden I have these new apps in my All tray, all of these I did not download:
Where
MobiTV
myWireless
vLingo
Web Video Search
Bloomberg Mobile
City ID (Free trial)
LinkedIn
Get Mobile Banking
Bejeweled (browser icon)
The Sims 3 (browser icon)
AllSport GPS
AT&T App Center
AT&T Maps + Nav
AT&T Music
They seem nice to have, but I have memory concerns, since I'm running a 9700 on a leaked OS6. Anyone else here have these apps slammed onto them?

Re: Where Did All These Apps Come From?
They are all Service book shortcuts and haven't been installed. When you select one, it will install. They aren't using any memory. Just hide them.

Re: Where Did All These Apps Come From?
Is there a way for a BES admin to block those new shortcut from poping up? Some of them like the Unlimited NHL just to mention one, doesnt look good from a VP point of view..
Thanks

Re: Where Did All These Apps Come From?
Yes it would have to be done through an IT policy, I don't know of the correct settings for it either.

Re: Where Did All These Apps Come From?
It is strange... Most of the BB we have are on a very restricted It policy.
Basicly we only alow them to use it as a regular phone and to receive and send mail. They are not alow to browse, install aplication...
But still, they woke up a morning and have a new icon on there screen.
I am still trying to find soemthing.. BTW. i am using Blackberry enterprise server version 5.0

Re: Where Did All These Apps Come From?
Check the IT Policy setting called 'Allow IBS Browser' in the Browser policy group.
If it's set to No, then those items will be blocked. Basically, that policy setting will disable any [BrowserConfig] service book.

Were they already there before the BES IT Policy disallowed them?

Re: Where Did All These Apps Come From?
Nope, as I understand it. You can remotely block then from being pushed, but not remotely delete them.
Sorta like shutting the barn door after the fox got in.
They are only installation shortcuts, they take up very little room on the device.
