Default Lite OS?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi everyone.

I just wanted to find out if there is a super lite streamlined version of the operating system for Blackberry 9780? It seems like the all the V5.0, V6.0 are 160megs. I'm not sure what size that .exe will be, when fully installed on the device. These OS's seem to install bunches of useless software and apps, so I am looking to get a bare-bones OS, that is tiny and only has the required functionality; lite-weight OS, core functionality, whatsapp, sms, phonecalls, calendar, alarm clock. The basics essentially... I'm looking to increase the performance of my phone, and don't mind comprimising on software trinkets...

tl:dr. Bare-bones Bold 9780 OS, something like 10megabytes, or 30, not 160!

Thanks.

there are some hybrid OS out there, but for real performance you would be better getting a Q10 which is so much better performance wise

I was looking for a software improvement, and not buying a new phone.

OK, then you will have to search for a hybrid (cobbled together pieces of various OS) which has modules deleted to save space. It won't save you much and won't improve old hardware.

9780 has been out since 2010, doubt you are going to get a lot of performance from a hybrid OS but maybe this will help

Thanks for responses,

I know that the 9780 is old, and there probably won't be much noticeable performance increase, but it doesn't matter to me. I'd still be interested in running a bare-bones OS, without the silly gadgets and applications that are defaulted.

Will have a look at your suggestions. And will welcome any more.

Much thanks.

JUst dont look at the silly applications and it will be the same as a bare bones OS.
