I would love this case, but I am worried the top portion of the holster where it clips above the camera will leave marks and/or scratches on my device. Is there anything in place to prevent that from happening?

Yes...as with all of our spring clip holsters, the clip is fitted with a rubber piece where the device is held to help prevent scratches.

I ordered a 8300 holder from your site before looking on here and it says "pending (b)" which I assume means on backorder?

Facing outward?
Is it possible for the phone to face outward while in this new clip/holster?
I had an 8100 before this and the clip I had, allowed it to face in or out. I hope so...I don't like to take it out -- I do everything with it in the holster.

Our holster is designed so the device can be face in or face out. In either way, your BB8300 will be very secure while it is holstered.
