Default messenger vs phone

Please Login to Remove!

The info under my messenger and phone icons both have a history of my phone calls. As this seems to be repetitious I assume that something is not set up correctly on my phone. Am I missing something here or is this normal? What is the function of each? tia

Have you tried changing your call logging options under your phone application?

No I haven't. If I went to the right place it would appear that I would have the option to log all calls, missed calls or none. It is currently on 'all" as you might have guessed. I had seen this earlier and started to change it to none but wasn't really sure what the distinction between the two applications - messenger and phone- really was. Would you please explain the use of each? thanks again.

Well with messenger activated, it serves as kind of like a journal. Recording your calls missed and all. However, it can get kind of messy with SMS going there as well.

The phone portion acts as a way to easily redial contacts or see who you have called. Try both to see what you like best. Hope you have fun.

It's not correct or incorrect. It's a preference you can set. I turn call logging off myself. It's a bit more cumbersome to view the dates and times of calls if you turn off call logging. I don't really miss it.

Besides, if you view incoming (Alt-I) or outgoing (Alt-O) items the calls will be listed among your messages even if you turn call logging off.
