Default Blackberry Turns on, yet the screen remains invisible.

Please Login to Remove!

Hello

BB9780

I have recently updated my BB, for the first few days the device worked well. Suddenly the device simply stopped working (at first I thought it had stopped working, it became apparent that everything worked but I couldn't see anything loading or visible on the screen). I reloaded, charged the battery and it came back on (although it flickered a little) for three days all was well in the BB world! Sadly, this was a short lived phenomena, and the last two days the BB has loaded ( I can see the power lighting up the keypad, the red light turns on etc) but I cannot see anything...I even noticed that the red light blinked indicating a message earlier today. I'm at a loss, any help would be appreciated.

Thank you in advance...

Did you drop the device or get it wet?

You updated a new blackberry? Why?
You need to reload the OS. Search for JL_cmdr on the forum site

Perhaps it is my terminology tsac, I updated the (what I believed to be the software from the desktop manager) software, in the hope that this would resolve the issue.

Anyhow, I will give your suggestion a try, thanks for your time, much appreciated.

Ok so you need to be a bit more detailed on exactly what you did. Updating from desktop manager usually goes to the Internet for the files. Sometimes the connection is bad and the data can corrupt the download. Try downloading the files to your pc and do the update locally, not on the internet. Make sure you get the files from your carrier for your phone model or from Blackberry directly. Do not try to load any files not designed for the phone type.

If nothing works you might just have a defective phone and you should bring it back to the place you purchased it. If it is new it should be warranted.

This is bad for a newly bought phone. You can just consider taking it back. Meanwhile you can try connecting it to the computer and see how it reacts. Or maybe connect it the power source and reboot it.
