Podtrapper looks better to me. At least the support BIS-B and desktop download.

Berrytunes supports direct download of Podcasts to the SD card in your BB in the current release, you can also continue to stream podcasts or internet radio if you prefer.

They provide regular updates (there have been a number of enhancements over the past few months) and their streaming is very stable/reliable.

If all you want is podcasts, Podtrapper has a richer feature set in general, but does not appear to allow streaming of podcasts from what I can tell. Looks like you have to download/then play.

I used both and I recommend podtrapper all the way. Developer is superb solving problems.

How do you update the podcasts on berrytunes?

I tried Berry tunes, but I didn't keep it. Poor audio quality, always buffering during play.

I tried Pod Trapper and it worked perfectly (BB 8830, OS 4.5, Sprint). Excellent audio quality, never any caching during playback (b/c the audio file is now on my media card). I registered Pod Trapper. It's great!

I've been using podtrapper for over a month and join the others in recommending it. I think it is better than having podcasts on my ipod.

One problem, if you're planning to get video podcasts, there is an issue with playback where the voice and audio get out of sync. I see the same issue playing the file with the BB Bold native media player, so it isn't a podtrapper problem.

The new Viigo version has podcast play ability. I find it to work really well and its free. Not sure when the public release date is but it must be soon.
