Default Visual Voicemail works on Tmo 8900!!!

Please Login to Remove!

Just got it working.

I am running 5.0.0.314 and I went to mytmobile and changed my current phone setting to 9700.

I then went to add services and checked the FREE visual voicemail option.

I then resent service books and it all works now!!

Pretty freaking sweet!

Shame, have still only found hullomail as a good solution in the UK, and it's still slightly rough around the edges (although pretty good, really).

Yes mine do show up pretty much instantly. They show both in your unified inbox and in the VISUAL VOICE MAIL app

Worked for me. Now I just need to get the Contact Sync working, which still isn't.

Yeah I can't get contact sync to work either. It worked great on my Verizon storm 2 but it has a different application for setting up email. On the 8900 it still just launches the browser to login to BIS.

When I clicked add the service, it said it wasn't available. Did that happen to you as well before you sent the books again?

Mine must not be working since I only have the unlimited email plan, not the web.

I did not have this problem. Did you change your phone on their website to the 9700 before attempting to add the visual voicemail service?

I actually hadn't when I first posted that, but now I did, and it's still not working. Tried a reset too as well as sending the books a few times and registering it.

Ah, I didn't realize you meant add services from the Tmo site! I just went there and added it and then resent the books. Clicking on the VVM icon on my phone still gives me the option to sign up for it though. Maybe it'll take awhile to kick in.

what did you do to get it to work? Does this require a data plan?

It most likely requires a data plan as it streams or downloads the voicemail file to your phone.

I have the email plan only, it did not work on mine. I tried it a few times, I had to end up wiping my device because I was no longer getting a voicemail indication after a voicemail was left.
