It occurs to me that the more time the Mods have to spend here defending their position, the less time they have to correct the core issue. Just a thought...

Let me make this clear. The Mod position is here is a volunteer. The owner/admin knows of the issues. I am only going to say this once. Next person to take a shot at the mods about this issue will be banned and you can discuss that with Guess too.

It is funny that we do this willingly, unpaid often at all hours of the day and night for our love of the product and the community, and just because the forum is in the middle between the sponsor and the users, there are users that think they can take pot shots at us. Luckily for us Mods, one of the reasons we get offered the job is because we don't take stuff like this too personally and we see the bigger picture. As a result we don't let the opinions of the few tarnish how we approach the majority of the great members we have here.

Yo BBAdmin - bigger picture has shrunk on this one for me. Zero tolerance on my end now.

Believe that my earlier post was open for some misinterpretation, so allow me to clarify:
This thread started as a valid plea for assistance from some posters who had bad experiences with one of our Sponsors. It quickly turned into an exercise in ad hoc defining of a Mod's role. It is absolutely understandable that the Mods would be compelled to respond to these posts-which took up some of the (unpaid) time they might have used to address the original issue.
I work in an environment where I spend more time explaining what I do than actually doing anything, and it sucks, so I could see the dynamic that was building here.
I sincerely apologize to anyone that I may have inadvertantly offended anyone with my original post.

Damn!, to think I started this thread with a SUGGESTION!
The funny thing is that I've never purchased anything from Smartphone Depot
but I was worried that newbees (since at first they don't search much. )
would get scammed (not 100% confirmed yet), and left with the sour note that they were scammed by a Sponsor of bb forums.
Specially when on the forum's home page says:
"BlackBerryForums.com Sponsors
Please help support BlackBerryForums.com by purchasing your blackberry needs from these Sponsors"

More important than all the suggestions that we tell the mods what to do, is the owner of SPD all right - I mean physically and mentally? Is anyone else concerned that this company which was always helpful (I talked to Robert several times) and who was a supporter for a long time is not reachable. I am concerned for the welfare of another human being. I could give a rats ass about punishing SPD and would just like to know that something bad did not happen to another human being. JMHO.

Here, here! We have no clue what's happened. Let's reserve opinions until then, although I can imagine this is difficult for those with money on the table.

Gentlemen (and Lady)
Please take a look at the thread in the sponsors section - SPD area I just started and I will try to address any issues.
Sorry since I've just registered I cannot place a direct URL - perhaps another user could below this post to make it easier for others.
Thx JW

Please note SPD's update on the Sponsor's forum..
To the mods, since I started this thread, may I respectfuly request that this thread be closed since apparently SPD has made a statement and has allowed members to address their concerns in their own "sponsors" thread

Very cool.
Thank you for that SPD_Jon!
I have honestly been really worried about the owner of SPD. He seemed to be really active and then dissapeared. That kind of thing always put a small question in the back of your mind.
I do hope everything is okay.

No problem! you guys put up with a bunch of abuse (closed threads, double post complainers ect) and get abused and slammed for doing this for free
You all rock and keep on doing what you are doing! Some of us long time posters do appreciate the job that you all do!!!!!!!
In case some missed it...... Did I mention the MODS do the for FREE???
