I almost lost my $25..

So true someonexh.. if I can have my meal why care about those who are hungry and can't afford a meal..
Sorry someonexh, but I am not that kind of person.
I am on 8800, but not my wife. And not everyone else in this forum. And certainly not every unknowing individual out there in the world who visits his website, and reads Complete Integration with 4.0.x - and ends up buying it only to find later the thing doesn't works as claimed.. Why not be honest and write the facts as it is..

I have Empower in my system but this is not an issue of loyalty. Does one have a special feature that the other does not offer?
Let's assume that the prices were the same

yep, now that Empower gets better and better everyday, their latest release being another fantastic upgrade over 0.7 i am liking it even more. This inspite of the fact that i started with Smartview, but empower speed & simplicity just won me over!
True, price can no longer be a comparison because if mobylo is marketing it, it will not be free with the kind of support mobylo gives! But thats all the more better..

I've been a SmartView user since the initial beta test, but I finally broke down and tried empower. I've also uninstalled it and don't plan on going back.
A few things....
First...I like the overall look and feel of SmartView MUCH better. I think the displayed email is more true to the original email. I sat with my BB and one of my IT buddie's (same model/carier), one with emp, one with sv, in front of my laptop and displayed multiple emails from work...blast email services......personal email.....and while empower was OK, smartview was much more true and accurate to the original email.
And one thing that really bugs me about empower, is that when they first came on the forums, they DID say that their app was free and would stay that way. BBSmart was always upfront that the beta testers would get a free version, but that the app would be for sale.
To each their own....but my vote is for SmartView....and I'm showing it to everyone I see with a BB in their hands. (really, I've been stopping people in the strangest places)

Thank you for your objective input. I am just a retail consumer looking to make a choice.

Thank you. I am not questioning the veracity of these individuals but come on now, say at least one nice thing about your competitor and one negative thing about your product. Don't make it so obvious.

I think the moral of this story is that while both companies have good products, one company seemed to have atleast one employee posing as a customer (of both products) and giving rather biased commentary as to which he/she preferred. I've just downloaded Empower and I must say that I'm not impressed (in fact, its disabled as my default viewer). If we want a true HTML viewer for email, I would expect actual HTML not just a colorful overlay that sometimes displays the pictures (although this didn't happen in my brief testing period).
I never tested out eZainny's SmartView (or whatever it's called), but I will say that I respect him a lot more, simply based on this thread.
But in the spirit of bringing better product alternatives to market, by all means keep the competitive spirit alive. Just don't give reviews of your own product while posing as a consumer. Not only is that stupid to do on a forum where your IP addresses are logged, but it's also rather unethetical in the spirit of business. Let your product do the talking not motivated nit-wit employees.
Just to add, the statements about comparing a 'final' version versus a 'beta' version product really plays no role in a start-up development market - ALL PRODUCTS ARE BETA!

BBSmart has more functions but functions I probably would not use.
For others, it has the ability to place e-mails in your calendar or task pad.
Otherwise, as a layman, I do not see a big difference. It is my assumption in the end that they will both be close in price.
MY hope is that my post will soon become obsolete as both products improve themselves as 'survivors of the fittest"

Wow, those IP addresses are interesting. Although there is a lot that can be said about that, I won't.
I didn't look at Empower until .91, whereas I did see SmartView early on. But at this point in time, from a layman's point of view, they are roughly similar; they both perform their primary function. Both have exciting plans for the future.
