Most bang for the buck.

You mean the Bluetooth GPS for your 8100?

I got mine on Ebay. I got the 32 channel but I have a feeling it's not really 32 channels though. I think he just slap a sticker saying 32.

So I will say just go for the 20 channel Bluetooth GPS.

I too was having problems with my iBlue GPS receiver when I first got my Pearl in September (Java error when using it). However, I have been doing software upgrades for a while, and decided to try it again today - One thing I tried (don't know if it was the fix), but in the device bluetooth properties I changed it to ENCRYPTED - DISABLED. In any event it works fine with the 8100 now.

do any of the navigation products provide re-routing if you go off course when using the bluetooth gps puck?

Most of them do. Some work better than others. I like Telnav.
