I don't believe T-Mobile pre-paid offers any Blackberry plans. You would need a Blackberry data plan to access Internet stuff unless your device has a Wi-Fi capability.

TMO Prepaid has only very limited free internet available and you can't change that. Basically, you can download ringtones, etc., from TMO and visit a handfull of info sites that they allow. So there is nothing to set up because you can't get there on TMO prepaid.

There are no options for any sort of data plan other than the free sites.

An HTC device is not a Blackberry device. If your Blackberry device has Wi-Fi capability then you are able to access the Internet just fine while connected to a wireless router/access point.

Google Maps is not set up to take advantage of Wi-Fi yet to my knowledge so without some sort of data plan, which T-Mobile prepaid does not offer for Blackberry as far as I know, it won't work.

The ICQ client that comes on a Blackberry device *should* work unless the 8310 is like the 8320 and the IM clients that come with the device use data and not SMS messages.

Opera Mini should work fine if you're able to get a Wi-Fi connection on your device.

I'm not familiar with the GPS application you talked about so you'd probably need to contact the company that wrote the software for support.

The 8310 does not have WiFi.

Okay, I wasn't sure. That's probably why the HTC device worked while the 8310 the OP has doesn't. Most HTC devices have Wi-Fi capability.

Even with an 8320, you cannot access the internet with the browser on prepaid. You can only access t-zones. You may be able to access with Opera. I've put a prepaid sim into my 8320 and it will not access via wi-fi.

Before getting my data plan, I used to access the browser with wifi and it worked just fine. However you cannot use bb msn, jivetalk, or anything else that uses data.
