Default Moving to BB from Treo, email question

Please Login to Remove!

I have changed companies and must move from Palm OS Verizon Treo to a Blackberry. The new company has push email from Outlook similar to my Treo with Goodlink.

I own my own domain and use a pop email client for checking personal mail from my provider. With the Treo, I used an app called Versamail to check my personal email. It was not push, no biggie.

Is there an equivalent app somewhere in the BB world I can buy to pop my personal email providers sever so I can also get my personal email? I do NOT want to set up another exchange account, want to keep my personal email off the company's mail system.

I moved from Treos to Blackberrys, and are YOU in for a pleasant surprise! The email app on the Blackberry is what it's all about. No more checking individual accounts one at a time. You're not gonna believe how easy it is. Different way of doing the little things, but once you get the hang of it you'll never look back.

I am wondering if I made myself clear.

My company uses Outlook mail with exchange server and they will configure my BB for mail from their equipment.

Additionally, I want the ability to pop my personal email provider for email from another domain, I dont want that email to go thru my company, ie, I dont want to configure Outlook to check that email, I want a secondary app.

Are we in sync?

Yes, you are in sync. Getting POP mail direct from a POP account is a piece of cake. Read the FAQ.

Thanks, I did read the FAQ and it was unclear in this respect.

One additional app that I have on the treo that is a must app is PDANET
(sorry I am not allowed to post URLs yet) which lets me connect to the internet with my laptop like a wireless modem (2.4Mbps) when there is no wifi for the laptop (like now in a rented cottage in Maine). Same thing exist for BB?

A search of these boards would give you this:
Using BlackBerry As Modem - BlackBerryFAQ

I dont know of a PDANet type program for the BB. I know that our corporate Sprint plan includes tethering for no additional charge so I didn't have to do anything but plug my USB cable into the laptop and the BB8830 and go. I believe Verizon offers a tethering plan for an additional monthly fee. I don't think Verizon offers it for free, but check out that link as it may help you out.....
