Default Dropped my curve 3 ft onto tile floor - Not a single scratch

Please Login to Remove!

I like keeping my curve in the holster in my pocket. I was trying to pulll the phone out of the holster while it was in my pocket. Due to my stupidity, it slipped out of my hand and landed on its upper right corner where the volume control is. To my surprise, there's no damage - not even a scratch. I scrutinized the phone and realized that it is surrounded by rubber all around the edges for cushion upon impact. Thumbs up on this design for me

The rubberized sides are quite nice.

The rubberised sides are all well and good until they start to wear off little by little whilst in your pocket like mine has!

Lucky! I've dropped my Curve a few times and got a few dings on it. But I have the red one and found a shade of nail polish that's an almost exact match (OPI's "I'm Not Really a Waitress"), so I've used that for touch-ups.

I got mine a week ago. Dropped it Sunday and on the way to the carpet it hit the ceramic foot on the table and cracked the glass display! I hope this isn't how things are going to be. I also am hoping they just fix it and not just send me back a refurbished one! It just got to the repair shop today. I have had 4 days of BB experience so far.

Did it bust the screen or just the plastic lens (that is part of the outside shell)? My daughter dropped hers and cracked the lens... I replaced it in less than 10 minutes with $13 in parts (shipped from Hong Kong - Cellular Accessories - Sony, NEC, 3G, HTC, LG, Microsoft, Tools, Mobiado, Accessories Store, Panasonic,).

Good luck to you!

Only $13? Good to know the screen is cheap to fix. That's not the case with my Treo 680. It would have cost about $150 for the screen fix, so I ditched the Treo and got the free Blackberry instead.

The $13 was for the plastic lens that goes over the screen. The screen is way more expensive (and difficult) to replace. But the lens comes with the adhesive - just pop the old one off, remove the old adhesive, and reassemble...
