Default 8320 on ATT - - NO MMS?

Please Login to Remove!

any other ATT users out there figure this one out...?

I've sent the service books multiple times, but to no avail... those 2 MMS books just don't come over... Not sure what the problem is, let alone the fix, but this is way to expensive and advanced a device to not have MMS capability regardless of carrier -

any thoughts are welcomed and appreciated -

it can not be done yet...... the service books will nto show up no matter how many times you resend them, or call cust care........... when the tmobile pearl first came out it would not work on that either, i think we will have to wait for a software uppgrade!

The goal is to INSTALL the service books to the device... not send them - I'm working on this with some others.

jscott, you must send them from AT&T. I don't know now what it is you hope to do otherwise.

Here is the link to do it yourself, you don't have to call customer service.

Thx for the reply... but sending the service books doesn't help... I'm very familiar with that process, and I've done this multiple times from my ATT BIS acct -

THAT is not the solution here for us with this issue-

Well, sending them may not be what you need, but "having" them in your service books lists certainly is what you need.

Have you pulled your battery to reboot the BB? Rebooting will install them.

Just get someone with a Pearl to make an .ipd backup of the service books, and then restore them to your Curve. Then you re-send service books, and you should be good to go

Very true... we do need to HAVE them in the SB list... but pulling the battery to re-boot nor resending service books is accomplishing it...

I'm working with some others on an alternative... if successful, i'll let others know

Whenever I've tried to backup service books it only backs up a couple, never anything useful.

Just to clarify, nobody has come up with a solution to get MMS working on an unlocked TMO 8320 using ATT, correct??

Call AT&T and let them know that you can't send MMS. MMS is a service that must be put onto your account. If your account is not provisioned for it, you cannot receive the service book on your blackberry to allow MMS.

If AT&T says it's enabled on your account, delete all service books EXCEPT provisioning (THIS WILL WIPE OUT ALL YOUR BIS / BES CONFIG AS WELL, WHICH MAY NEED TO BE RESENT AFTER THE FOLLOWING), then go to Host Routing Table, and Register with the AT&T carrirer. This should resend all your non-RIM service books back to the blackberry, including the MMS service book (if its on your account correctly on AT&T's side). Then reactivate BIS / BES.

If anyone else has other ideas for him, let him know. I'm not an expert at this stuff, but from fooling around with this type of thing in the past, this is how I've gotten mine to work in the past.

I had an MMS problem on my AT&T 8310. It worked for awhile, then it stopped. No matter what AT&T and I did it wouldn't fix the problem. But I found a workaround solution. If you want to send a picture to someone, find out their mobile phone's MMS email address. It would be like this:

[email address] (if they have AT&T)

[email address] (if they have T-Mobile)

...and so on.

Then when you send a picture, select "Send as Email" (not "Send as MMS") and it works.

None of this will do any good with an 8320 on AT&T.
The MMS service book will not be delivered to a non-AT&T BlackBerry.
To my knowledge, there is no "fix" for this at this time.

i can send MMS from my 8120 with an ATT SIM card in it no problem. I called and had them provision the device on their end with the correct IMEI on the account. To clarify I also have both MMS service books.
