Default Update on my MMS problem

Please Login to Remove!

Well, after I don't know how many hours now with tech support, they suggested I take my phone back and exchange it for another one. Did that today. Tried sending a MMS there in the store fromt he new phone and it wouldn't go through! Before I was at least getting checkmarks showing a message went out on my end. Now I'm getting the little X's. The guys at the store are completely stumped so they said, "You'll have to call tech support tomorrow." Ummm... I have to? Oh no. I told them I'm coming back tomorrow and they're going to call tech support for me because I don't have another phone line and I don't have the patience to do the online chat room again so soon. They said ok. They could see I'm pretty frustrated and just.... pissed off. Good thing I have tomorrow off work so I have all day to get this fixed.

I used to get that as well with T-Mobile. I used to have to do a battery pull and then it would work.

Also, does the MMS work when you send one to yourself?

this happens to me when i use any application that requires a tcp/apn setting, completely takes over the port and MMS doesnt come through or out unless i turn my connection off and on to reset. VERY frustrating.

I could receive but not send. But now on this new phone, I can't even SMS text! It shows them going through on my end (I get the check mark), but the people I send to don't get them and I'm not receiving any SMS either. And now when I try to send a MMS I get the little X instead of a check mark. I can't send or receive SMS or MMS on the new unit.

Unfortunately tech support is closed today since it's Sunday, so you bet your sweet bippy I'm going to the store tomorrow morning and they're going to call tech support so we can get this fixed.

Just to recap, I have done everything I can think of. So far this is what's been done:

*multiple battery pulls
*got a new SIM card
*deleted & resent the service books (done this multiple times)
*support took off, then re-added my data/text package
*exchanged phone for a new one (still having issues)

This WILL be fixed tomorrow... hell or highwater.

i was having the same problem with my curve on tmo today, was never able to receive a picture message. normally sending one to urself fixes it, however it didnt.

I just called, they transferred me to tech support and i guess they provisioned something on the account, and it started working.

Well, I went back to the AT&T store today and I'm not sure what they did but it's working again (they said something wasn't provisioned right). We sent test MMS to a few test phones in the store and they worked. But for some reason when I try to send a MMS to my mom she gets a butterfly graphic and my boyfriend gets a black screen. But at least the SMS is working again now and we'll just find a workaround for now. Hoping maybe OS 4.3 will fix this little bug.

I had this ongoing problem with MMS too. However, the only way I could alleviate this problem are the following:

- By doing a battery pull and leaving it out for 30 seconds then popping it back in.
- Making sure that the Curve is the phone selected on My T-Mobile.

I see you have AT&T, I'd figure the way T-Mobile and AT&T works online are somewhat similar.

Oh I tried battery pulls, reloading the OS, deleting & resend the service books, support even took off & re-added my data/text package and nothing worked. I'm thinking something now isn't provisioned right on my mom & my boyfriend's phones. Unfortunately my mom is 1400 miles away and won't be back down here until just after Christmas. I'll see my boyfriend later this week (he has to help me bring my new TV home when it arrives in the store for pickup).

But I can receive MMS from both of them.... go fig!
