Default Constantly need to "more" messages?

Please Login to Remove!

We are on Bes 4.1.0.40 SP1 on W2K3 Standard SP1 and Exch 2K3 SP2. User is on a BB8703 on Verizon.

I have a user that constantly needs to more email messages. He is the only one affected. I have deleted the user from the BES, wiped the handheld, run dbclean on his laptop (which deleted "nothing"), re-added the user to no avail. I have not tried putting him on a different device. 41297944 bytes free on the device. No other apps installed on device. Any ideas?

Did you make sure his email settings on the device was set to Yes for Auto more?

In the messages, click the scroll wheel and go to Options, then General Options, then Auto More should be Yes.

If this doesn't fix it then it most likely can't be fixed. I also noticed sent messages sent from the desktop will not Auto More, as well as very long messages. Hope this helps,

I made the sure Auto More was set from the get go. The one thing I do notice is that his fonts are set to size 14 insanely large. Could the fact that the fonts are so large have an impact on this?

I set the fonts back to size 8 but I can't get the device back for testing until Monday. If it was not the President of my company I would not really sweat it but.....

The issue was the font size being set to 14. When I reduced the font size to 10 it minimized the need to "more" 90% of the messages. Strange.

When you receive a long email on the handheld, it is sent as sequential packets of information of size 32 KB. You mentioned that the user was removed and re-added on BES, are those prepopulated message? If your message prepopulation is set to receive headers only, then all these messages only show the headers only. The user will have to do a "More" to pull down the rest of the message.
