Doubt it, but there is always the user manual to start with.

OK, so I'll ask the obvious "dumb" question: I had a BB 9000, yesterday I purchased a BB 9800. Before the purchase I backed up my "old" device. So, at this point, do I RESTORE to my new device or do I SYNCH?

You can use the Switch Device Wizard in Desktop Manager, which will move all of your data and 3rd party applications over to the new device for you.

Always good to have that backup of the 9000, though, just in case.

What version of BlackBerry Desktop Manager do you have installed on your PC?

Yep. Then you just connect them both to your PC, start the Switch Device Wizard, pick the 'from' and 'to' devices and let 'er rip.

Also, what about contacts, how do they get transferred? Is there a "how to" script I should be looking at?

The Switch Device Wizard will move ALL of the data from the old device to the new device. Contacts, Calendar, emails, text messages, etc etc.

Older apps transfered to the device with Device switcher can cause issue if not compatable with OS 6. On device go to Options, Device, Application Management is a great way to see what your apps are doing with your CPU usage on #Torch. Just slide top bar to CPU and see what is going on. Also touch the CPU menu to see other time variables. I found out that an app was eating away CPU cycles on mine and found an update later on for it.
