I'm looking for a good weather program. I have seen screen caps that show the temp on the home screen. That is what I would like. Weatherbug keeps erroring out downloading info. I finally deleted it.

Any good suggestions?

Check out BerryWeather. The new version works very well on the 9700, and can do what you are wanting and more.

I had BerryWeather on my 9000 and it worked great. Now on my 9700 the GPS auto location based feature poops out after a day or so, stating it can't find a location. A reinstall fixes that, but then the same thing happens again after a day. All other GPS based apps work fine though. Still the best looking weather app on the BB IMO.

+1 for BerryWeather. Only negative I guess is that it is a paid app. Prior to coughing up the money for it I used Weather Eye. Free, compatible with the 9700 and works quite well. I prefer BerryWeather however as it allows you to view weather conditions for multiple locations, has a (in my opinion at least) much better interface, supports more cities including those outside of the U.S. and is more reliable.

BBWeather is good for a free app. I used it for YEARS. But just last week I tried BerryWeather, and its WELL worth the $5 I paid for it.

The new version released last week works extremely well on the 9700 (make sure you get the OS 5 build). Lots of eye candy if that's your thing but the interface is highly customizable to you can make it fit your screen just the way you want, and you can use or turn off the eye candy.

I especially like the fact that once you set up a location you can fine tune the reported local conditions by selecting from a list of nearby (and not-so-nearby) weather stations. The data source for the new version - Wunderground - has always been one of my favorites on the PC because they have several weather stations near where I live and other weather sources don't seem to - or at least I can't be sure because I can't tell what source they're using.

One thing that I discovered by accident (I hit the wrong key by mistake) is that you can call up a full text weather report from the Wunderground Mobile site right from the app and it loads the report for your location without exiting the app.

Honestly, BerryWeather is the only one with all of the features in one app, and it also happens to look very good as well. Viigo is functional, but the view and navigation on the weather leaves much to be desired.

BerryWeather 2.x uses WeatherUnderground, not Accuweather. The 1.x version of BW uses Ham Weather as the data source.

I would suggest bbweather - search the Aftermarket Software section for the GPS version. It's free, handles multiple locations and has current conditions, daily and hourly forecast. It is, however, not a visually impressive as Berryweather but it is FREE.

You can also load a trial of Berryweather and decide if it is worth $10, especially with bbweather being free.

One thing to consider about the new version of BerryWeather... since they have switched to Weather Underground as their source, you can now select the specific source of data for each location you have saved in the app. In other words, you are no longer limited to one source for each city (which may not even be in the city) because Weather Underground uses many, many different sources for each location. The accuracy is much better now, counter to one of the major complaints about version 1.
