Computer doesn't pick up phone
Please Login to Remove!
When my phone is plugged in it has a charge symbol on it. But on the computer and in the device manager it isn't being picked up.

Welcome to the forums.
Are you connecting the device to a USB hub? Do you have Desktop Manager installed?

Try connecting it directly to a USB port on the back of your PC and see if you have different results.

Don't connect via a HUB. Plug the BB directly into the PC, preferably to a USB slot on the back of the device.

I assume you mean Desktop Manager.
Click on Option > Connection Options. Select USB and see if it detects your device.

Try different USB ports, or even a different cable if at all possible.

Okay- are you connected on a work related PC connected to a network? The BB will want to take over the network drive letter. Your PC will not let it take it. It will charge, but NOT show up as a device. It may even give that "klunk' noise it would normally make, but it will not be seen. Boot the PC with the BB plugged in. Check your drive letters and it might show up then. REMAP the BB to an available Letter (non-network), then reboot with the BB unplugged to re-establish network connection. Plug the BB in and it should pick it up with the new Drive Letter assigned.

I'm having the same problem this morning with an 8320.
Last night I helped a friend by upgrading the OS on his old 7290 using my PC, this morning my BB connects to the PC and charges also the Media Card is visible , but the Desktop Manager does not detect the BB.
I am sure it is something to do with Desktop Manager as I can connect it to my backup PC, and it is detected by the DT manager and syncs without a problem...
I have restarted and changed USB ports, pulled the BB's battery, shutdown the Desktop Manager, done everything I can think of...
Serves me right for helping my friend with that ancient 7290!!

Found the solution for my connection problems. Just re-installed/repaired Desktop Manager software and it is now connecting no problems.
