After performing an in place
upgrade on a BlackBerry® Enterprise Server 4.1 SP7 to 5.0 SP2, multiple warning messages appear in the event viewer application log file from the BlackBerry® Synchronization Service:
[SYNC-UserControl] Configuration Channel data will not be sent until key is generated. [DisplayName:UserID]
The same log line will be observed in the SYNC logs.
Cause:
After upgrading from BlackBerry Enterprise Server 4.1 SP7 to 5.0 SP2, the BlackBerry Synchronization Service should detect the new configuration channel data and send the configuration channel database to the BlackBerry smartphone, if the smartphone is capable of handling the new addconfig and updateconfig commands. When the smartphone starts initialization on the new configuration channel database, this issue occurs if the BlackBerry smartphone does not request the full configuration which also includes a new encryption key.
Workaround:
Delete/undelete
[SYNC] service book.
