Unhappy Licences have vanished in migration

Please Login to Remove!

Hi guys,

wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem...

We're currently migrating users from our old BES (4.1.7.23) to Bes 5.0 SP3 using the Blackberry Enterprise transporter tool. I noticed that the licence keys were not being transferred with the user accounts and so began to manually type in the licence keys into the new BES and then would remove them from our old BES. Everything seemed to be going fine (new BES was reporting available licences and old BES no longer had the keys attached). Unfortunately after about an hour it seems that the new BES has dropped the keys and being the not-too-bright genius that I am, i did not write down the licence keys beforehand. At present the keys seemed to have disappeared into the ether. I'm only the Back-up BES admin so have no idea where the there may be a copy of the licences :S

Edit: Am referring to CALs by the way..

Anyone else had a similar experience/problem?

Bit fresh when it comes to the licence key side of things, so apologies if it doesn't make too much sense

if you have an older backup of the sql database, you can use this to lookup the license keys:
KB03300-How to export or import BlackBerry Enterprise Server Client Access License (CALs) keys from a command prompt

Well if you did what I did, you started hand bombing them into the web page, clicking add, and repeat. Then moved off of the page without actually saving the bloody change.

As for recovery, see above.

Folks, Enterprise Transporter migrates your users only. Not the CAL.

nobody7290 gave the KB article which you can use.

If you prefer, you can manually locate your CAL by using this query:

SELECT * FROM LicenseKeys WHERE Type = 0
