I used to have this program for my HTC tilt that allowed me to use the built in wifi and my phones 3g data connection to create a wifi access point that any device could connect to.

I know the Curve isnt 3g but it would still be cool if there was a program that allowed me to turn it into a wifi router essentially.

Does anyone know of such a program? Id imagine it would be a nice one to have once the 3g blackberrys start rolling out later this year.

I think what the OP meant was to use Curve as a Wifi hotspot. Say you are in a place with EDGE but no Wifi, WinMo and S60 phones can serve as a personal hotspot with a 3rd party software.

Personally I am not interested in it with the current EDGE speed, but heard it works great on 3G with AT&T.

You cannot tether the Blackberry via WiFi.
You cannot share the Blackberry device's wireless connection via WiFi.
You cannot turn your Blackberry into a WiFi hotspot.

I didn't say I turned the 8320 into a wifi hotspot, I said I can use the 8320 as a modem via my wifi connection. And yes I've done it.

No, you haven't. It's not possible.
You can use your 8320 as a modem via USB cable, or via Bluetooth.
You can't tether via WiFi.

Dude... No, that's not what he said at all.

He said, "I can use the 8320 as a modem via my wifi connection"
and he also said "yes you can use the curve as a modem via wifi".

It's not possible to tether your BlackBerry via WiFi.
You can tether via USB cable and/or Bluetooth... but not WiFi.

In any case "tethering via WiFi" doesn't make sense if you bother to think about it. There's no need to tether if you have WiFi access.

I'm at Borders. Free WI-FI for my Curve, not free for my Laptop. Tether laptop to curve. Now free WI-FI for my laptop.
