Contrary to popular belief, "lefties" also have both a right and left hand.! Fortunately, most lefties were also blessed with the ability to use either hand for most every day things (we generally are much smarter than right handed people, and better looking as well).. Everything from writing, to using "right handed" scissors and yes, even shifting a standard car transmision with our right hand!

So, you see, most lefties probably "manage" with the blackberry, and most everything else in life better than rigth handed people.

Unfortunately, lefthanded people have a life expectancy that is less than that of right handed people, due to accidents for the most part.
This usually results in something being said such as... "opps, should have realized that was backwards for me" followed by.... BOOM

Wirelessly posted (Cingular 7130c: BlackBerry7130/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

I'm right handed, but if my thumb starts to hurt I use my left hand and scroll with my index finger. And the scroll wheel doesn't require much cordnation so being left handed and using your right hand shouldn't be difficult.

We get used to scolling on the right.

Jim, you maybe right about lefties not living as long, but at least we make more $$. Left-handed men see better paychecks - Yahoo! News

this is some funny stuff!

Im lucky to be ambidextrous, but even though I write with my right hand I find myself holding my device (and doing things) with my left

its just easy with a ppc since the joystick is in the middle, although I have been practicing for the bberry 8703e when it comes out

Being both handed is pretty cool. I am always swapping my blackberry from hand to hand.

But I guess I am not as smart as the Gecko because I am both handed...must mean the little I have is dispursed thinly in my brain. Wah.

I'm ambidextrous myself and use the blackberry in both hands. When the blackberry is in my left hand, I scroll with the middle finger, so it's not a big deal. Hell, just for giggles, I write left-handed when my right hand cramps up every now and then. I feel I'm smart enough to compete with those lefty geniuses. Not too worried about being a half-genius. I'll take it.

I draw and operate the device with my left hand (device resides in the left pocket, keys in the right) just fine. Thumb commands the convenience keys, index finger the scrollwheel.

Yeah, I use either hand. Scroll with the middle finger when using the left. Surely as a lefty, you've had to either use the right hand or adapt to using a right-handed tool with the left (like reversing pressure on right handed scissors)...

I am very left hand centric and have no problems at all with the Blackberry. That said however, my wife is also left handed and uses a Treo (yuck) as she insists the BB is too difficult to use in her left hand.

This is one of the reasons why the scroll wheel is being replaced by the track ball on new devices.

Miata, THAT is true genuis!!

I am left handed, but ambidextrous too....so I guess I am only half genuis, but I will take it.

No problems with blackberry; when one hand is tired, the other is ready.

All this "use the middle finger" and "I switch hands when one is tired" makes this thread sound like we are really discussing some perverted method of self gratification....
