Default Yahoo Messenger on Cingular

Please Login to Remove!

If you guys remember way back in 6 months or so with this thread: http://www.blackberryforums.com/showthread.php?t=19994

After a numerous complaints made to cingular, Cingular finally activated Internet Browser for all of us. Is it possible we can do again for Yahoo Messenger this time? Any thoughts?

It still doesnt work. Browsing works, but I believe in order for the realtime msg delivery of "Y! Messenger for BB" app requires a special service book from the provider (Cingular). They aren't saying anything about that or when the free realtime Y! email will work... Somebody says they are working on it, but i've heard that one before.. Could be 5 days, 5 months, or never?

I am also ready to complain in a bigger way about them not allowing YIM. I sent Cingular an email from my account page on cingular but I don't expect a reply.

After a few tries I got the Blackberry Yahoo IM client to install but of course I get the contact Cingular message. I am able to web browse and check Yahoo email okay.

Count me in guys ...I hate ****ing Cingular...the only reason they wont implement it is because they want to take your money for SMS messaging...lets get a petition going!

Default grrrr

I just spoke to Cingular and the tech told me that Yahoo IM will work on the Cingular network, they just dont support it and we need to contact Yahoo for support. I really don't belive she understood what I was asking her, however, I tried to call Yahoo and got disconnected several times. Are they owned by Cingular? Anyway, is there a free or reasonable IM client that will work on Cingular for Yahoo?

Good luck.

Although I already use VeriChat (spotty connections, suspect customer service), I'll sign the petition...

If you are talking about the Yahoo messenger from blackbery for Yahoo it will NOT work. Cingulr has NO PLANS to offer the service book for this and that is what you need for it to work. Yes, yahoo im will work with Cingular BUT you have to purchase a third party app. I have talked to them a few times and it is the same story, "go buy a third party app, we will not be offering the Yahoo IM from RIM"

Default Yahoo Messagner not showing up after install

Hi all,

I have the 7130c and I used the OTA to install the Yahoo Messenger for blackberry application. The install process indicated that the app installed successfully, but it no where does it show up on my home screen. If I go to options/applications it is listed as installed by I am unable to launch it.

I was able to install and launch the google messenger successfully?

Does anyone have any ideas as to what the problem may be?

Thanks

Default Cingular! :(

If a petition is started, I am in!
I have complained to Cingular about this in several emails.
One person I talked with in BB support said that there are plans to support it, but couldn't give me a time frame at all.

That person most like had no idea what they were talking about!

Well...I know this may be kind of stupid, but there is this place:

www.PetitionOnline.com - Free Online Petition Hosting

Maybe if we get enough signers we can get Cingular to look at it?

I'll sign it too. It really annoys me that cingular doesn't fully support this device the way they should. Just give us what RIM intended for this device!
