Default Missing Sync - doesn't (with BlackBerry Bold)

Please Login to Remove!

Anyone beside me feeling ripped off by Missing Sync?

They advertised in a press release that they were compatible with the Bold.

I guess their idea of compatibility is to never enter contacts on your BlackBerry Bold because one of their workarounds suggested on 11/20 is:

IMPORTANT: This performance issue may resurface following any contact data being edited or added directly on the BlackBerry device. Mark/Space recommends that users add or edit contact information only on the Macintosh, pending a permanent, comprehensive solution to this issue.

Say What?

Here's a link to the full knowledgebase entry admitting the problems between the Bold and Missing Sync.

Yep, I'm having major issues with Missing Sync as well, both Contacts and Calendar. Very disappointed with the program.

If only Google could get their contacts syncing to work properly without duplicating data.

Yeah, it's a MAJOR problem. I spent an hour yesterday redoing contacts and then I just had to spend 20 minutes again today. PocketMac doesn't work at all for me, so Missing Sync is the only option. Very very very disappointed in the product so far. They don't seem to be doing too much to solve the problem. Not being able to edit anything on my Bold is a huge issue for me.

Just submitted another ticket to Mark/Space to see if they have any ideas on when the issues might be fixed. I'm honestly guessing it's going to be a while...

I can't even get the Mac to sync with my bold either. It works when I boot camp in windows. But when plugging in my phone to the mac via USB the synchronize button turns on, when I press it, it says failed to connect.

I notice the phone reacts to being plugged in to USB but does not show its being charged.

Has anyone experience the same issue?

I even tried pocketmac and that failed as well.
I have the latest version of pocketmac and missing sync. Is there a driver I need to download for the bold on the Mac?

Or even better if RIM got its act together and released a fully Mac compatible desktop manager. That would be the best solution.

Anyone heard from RIM yet as to when they can show us a little respect as well by putting out a full version of the BB Desktop for Mac?

i've been synching fine for the most part with the missing sync program. You have to make sure pocketmac is uninstalled while using missing sync though. I've been debating going back to use pocketmac but I'm wondering if it is compatible with the BOLD as of now?

yea, I mean with Apple grabbing more and more marketshare you'd think RIM would want to develop a stable solution. RIM is losing clients daily to iPhones and if they want to bite Apple back they should secure us Mac users with an official client that WORKS.

I have been through a Treo AND a Blackberry, they told me that these two units sync with Mac. THEY DON'T.

I started a website

verizonhatesmacusers.com

dedicated to the problem.

Maybe if the service providers start to demand that RIM be truthful about Mac support so that they can stop the lies about compatability, we can all move forward.

U have to uninstall the pocketmac fully. go to "HD-> System-> Library-> Extentions-> Delete "BlackberryUSB.kext" & "BlackberryUSBDev.kext".
After deleting, then install Missing Sync.
For me, it works perfectly, edited my contacts and calender, all set. Hope it will help.

Cheers

I love the irony of this recent advertisement from them!

I got a new phone for the holidays, a BlackBerry Bold(as PICTURED) and guess what, it doesn't sync.

Very glad to see they're actively working on this. I think I'll skip the beta versions for now. I have a feeling the final release will come out fairly soon.

They better not charge for this upgrade, because the product does not work in its current form.

i downloaded this beta and it doesnt work either. it actually deleted most of the contacts on my bb. i am amazed at the poor quality of this software yet they claim it works! i just sent them an email asking for a refund. we'll see if they even respond - i already filed 2 tickets which have not been responded too.

does anyone know of a solution that WORKS?

thanks,
eric

there is that beta forum as well, you might want to post there and tell them it doesn't work for you.
