Default Adding phone # to address book, defaults to Work #

Please Login to Remove!

Hello,

If you have a phone number in your call log that you want to add to address book, the number defaults to the Work number. Is there any way to make it default to Mobile number?

Thanks.

If you add the numbers via Outlook contacts, they get mapped over according to the settings in the synchronization application in desktop manager.

Agreed, change your mapping in DM to sync with MO correctly or to your specification.

I'd imagine that works.
But any clues as to default to "Mobile" when you add a new contact straight from the Call Log as Toronto mentioned?

thx

You probably can't change that. Note, Blackberrys are a business first device. So having the default being a "work" number kinda makes sense.

Pearl is not a business first device. they should have designed to at least give you the option to assign it as a mobile number.

It's an oversight IMO.

I was just going to start a thread on this topic. It relly bugs me that it defaults to work instead of asking.

What does all that mean? I use Lotus Notes for email.

You are right, the pearl is RIMs first entry into the consumer market. But the pearl does use the same OS that all Blackberrys have been using for the last few years. The only pearl specific features are the multi meadia ones.
