Default Browser Message

Please Login to Remove!

This is probably a very simple problem, but I cannot see a solution. Bold 9000. On desktop, alongside icon showing number of unread emails is another icon in the shape of a yellow sphere with the number 1 next to it. This icon has a similar lines pattern to the browser shortcut icon. What is this message icon telling me? Some background: I tried to do a Google search in the browser and received the message that there was no data connection available, but offered to reserve the request. I selected that option. The yellow sphere is therefore probably related to this request, but as I requested above how do I remove it?

Messages icon - menu - view folders - browser messages
then delete/read as wanted.

What MidnightDraven said.

Also, what happened is you saved the request, and the BlackBerry finished downloading the page while you had signal reception and saved it in your message list. If you click on the saved page it will open in the browser, and the browser notification on your screen will go away (if that was the only one).

By the way, in a pinch where signal is barely registering and you don't have wifi, saving the request can often be a way to download a web page in conditions where the signal is too spotty to open a web page normally.

Thank you gentlemen, but regret I am unable to follow the instructions you give. I am sure you are correct, but cannot find the items you refer to. Please imagine I am looking at a desktop full of application icons. Which keys do I use? Thanks for your patience.

Gentlemen. Problem solved, you may now sigh with relief. I have grasped the meaning of your replies. The messages icon is one of those I had blacked out, because I like a small tidy desktop. Thanks again

A couple of tips wrt to uncluttered desktop:

If you aren't using a zen style theme, give it a try. Put the apps you use most and that do not have a shortcut on the home screen by moving those apps to the top row of the apps screen.

Put the other apps you use often on the second and third row of the apps screen. Or use an "Applications" folder for those apps and put that folder on your home screen.

Disable "dial from home screen" and start using keypad shortcuts... "M" opens messages app; "N" messenger; "B" browser; "U" calculator; "L" calendar; "D" notepad; "T" tasks ...
