Unhappy MMS not working

Please Login to Remove!

My MMS is not working, I don't have a BB data plan but I can use gmail and Opera. The BB browser is also working when connected on wifi.

I can't remenber if it was working on my 8320 before I updated the OS or if it was on my 8800. But it did work without a data plan. Any suggestions???

Thanks,

Resend your service books from your BIS login.

use FAQ on blackberry manual for your model you will find on blackberry website. I used that once and I remember there was a specific problem about when MMS can't be used. MMS use GPRS and if you don't have BB data plan you may not be able to use MMS. See in the right upper corner whether you have GSM or gprs/edge. You need at least gprs with small letters to use MMS and capital letters (GPRS/EDGE) to use email.

It says edge in small letters, so should that work or does it have to say gprs?

Call T-Mobile and make sure that you have the Feature Enabler set on your account and ask them to resend it.

edge is fine since mms is through voice plan. edge is higher than gprs, only thing higher than edge is EDGE, but since you dont have a data plan you will not get that.

drizzt09, for many carriers, MMS goes through DATA and not voice. MMS does not work on pure GSM (which is voice). It requires data.

Does that mean that it won't work on edge? I can get Internet and mail via Opera and gmail.

Just out of curiosity, which country are you in? Never heard of 3 as a mobile carrier.

Chances are like as the others have touched upon, MMS is a feature that needs to be enabled by your carrier. But I'm thinking otherwise it should work on edge.

I'm in Denmark. I only know of 3 in Denmark, Sweden and Italy.

My phone is actually always roaming caus 3 only supports 3g phones on their own network but they have an agreement to use other carriers network in Denmark so I dont have any additional cost of roaming, maybe thats the problem??? But it did work some time ago I just can't remember if it was on my 8800 or my 8320 before my OS update.
