Default Best stereo/wired headphones

Please Login to Remove!

Could some of you guys/gals point me to some nice headphones?

I've searched and found nothing constructive here and all the amazon's of the world have about 50 different ones to choose from - so I'm lost.

Let me state my purpose - I need them for long calls where I have the call coming through both earbuds in, so it blocks out sort of a noisy environment that I may be at when I take those calls. Also, I want them to double serve as ipod-type headphones to listen to music when I go for a run or so.

So I definitely need
- decent mike
- calls coming in through both channels (if that's even possible with the pearl)
- stereo music playback
- wired
- fairly small earbuds so they're activity-friendly as well

Big thanks to anyone who can help!!!

You should've found good info on this topic with your search since this subject has been discussed quite a lot in the past.

Having said that, your best bet would be to go with a nice pair of OEM 2.5mm stereo headphones (typically available through your provider: Cingular / AT&T, T-Mobile, etc.).
For my Pearl, I use a Cingular stereo headphone which has a convenient button to answer / end calls. Apart from using it in that way, I'm always using it to listen to my mp3's or while watching movies I've put on my phone.

They're a bit pricey at stores, but you can find them on eBay for much cheaper (under $20). Just do a search on eBay for "cingular stereo". The sound out of them is quite nice. I've pretty much done away with my iPod ever since buying my Pearl.

Edit: Oh... when you do that ebay search you'll probably see several different types of headphones available. Stay away from the other imported junk as most of them are extremely cheapy. If you plan to buy, look for the "Cingular" branded ones... they're white/orange wires with orange foam covers on the earbuds.

Check the Verizon stand in the nearest Circuit City. I brought a pair and they do exactly what you're looking for in addition to sounding great. A little pricey at $30, but well worth it.

Now I know your looking for "WIRED" headset BUT let me recomend a bluetooth device called "Jawbone" that is suppose to be one of the best Bluetooth headsets out there, its a bit pricy but supposed to be a superior bluetooth headset, the only downfall is that it's kinda big, but supposed to have great sound even in noisy enviroments ect ect..... The Highest Rated Bluetooth Headset. Ever. there is the link to there website, check it out.

the cingular orange ones are about 11-12 bucks on ebay .. and some actually sell them along with a car charger for that price

so i'm in for that .. if they suck .. 2nd choice will be the verizon ones
i looked at verizon online and they have sony's and two no-brand sets .. not really sure whats what but since i'm going for the cings now it doesn't relly matter

i just hope the cings feed the sound to both ears while on the phone

thanks all for your input

If you want a pair of headphones that block almost any type of noise go with Shure. I have a pair of their E3C's and they block out the sound of a running lawn mower when I am walking behind it. They are not cheap though ($180). You prob want to look at the kind that have the mic built in. They are pretty comfortable and as mentioned before will block out alot of sound.
