Hi All,

I have been with T-Mo for all my life, since 2000. Have changed from BB Pearl, Pearl 8120, Pearl 8220, Curve 8320, and just got my BB 8900.

However, now I am considering the Verizon Storm. I still have 14 days to return the 8900 and get the Storm.

My main reason, I am in Little Rock, and T-Mo only gets GPRS over here, not even EDGE. However, Verizon does have 3G.

I love the 8900, only using it for 12 hours, but I messed around with the Storm, and now I am contemplating.

More like, from info from you guys, I just need more of the services on BB through Verizon, restrictions mostly, and PROS and CONS of the storm.

Even though the questions I am asking might be covered, I was unable to find the answers.

I thank you guys in advance.

Note: While using the Storm at the Verizon store, I found it quite slow with performance and the accelero-meter. Maybe the OS issue, but just want a knowledged answer from you GURUS and Storm Users.

I've been with T-M for 4 years and have the 8320. I tried the Storm and liked it for the most part. I found the accelerometer to be a pain, tho. It caused my Storm to rebound between portrait/landscape as I typed and moved the device. I'd like to see a feature that lets the user control when the device displays each view. My 8320 feels like a dinosaur compared to the Storm. I'm waiting to see the new models RIM is releasing over the next several months before trying another BlackBerry.

Thanks JS. I know the 8320 is big, but still an awesome phone. I am running the .110 as the newer one on this website bricked my BB. T-Mo helped out to get it back online.

The 8900 is a very sleek device, however, other than performance, GPS and screen, it still feels the same as curve. I have been having Incoming call issues with it, as well as the voice would keep breaking while on a call.

The Storm seems like a great device, and a you said, My concern was also was the Accelerometer. It would come active with even the slightest movements.

I am primary on a 4 line plan, with current plan at 79.00 for 1500 min unlimited M2M, NW and also Fav 5 on all five lines included in the 79.99 plus the 9.99 for the 2 additional lines. I pay the $20 for BB on my 8320 and 9.99 for unlimited msgs on all lines. So you can say I have a preferred plan as the plan I am on is not mentioned on the website.

However, with the Storm, the VZ plan is also great, 1400 for 89.99 for 2 lines, with Friends and Family (10 numbers you can call unlimited). The BB plan is only 30 but it does have 3G, compared to my GPRS on the 8900. LOL.

Thats what I am confused, honestly, on what to do. I paid 129 for my 8900, 29.99 for 2 BB 8820 and 80 for the Behold on the contract extension, however, LetsTalk.com has the Storm for free, upto 2 of them on a family plan, with Mail in rebates.

You see my confusion.

You could try the Storm and find out first hand how you like it. I bought it through Wirefly.com which has a 30-day return window. I spent 3 weeks with the Storm and used it extensively before returning it. I loved the touchscreen, apps, features etc. Even typing wasn't too difficult and I'm sure my speed on the virtual keyboard would improve over time. The accelerometer was my only real gripe. I just couldn't get a handle on it; even slight movements left or right would active the it. If an OS update ever offers a disable feature for the AM, then the Storm would win me over. Now, I'm waiting for the Niagara, Pluto and Storm 2. I really hope one of these models turns out to be "the one" for me.

Just remember that there is a learning curve to the Storm. Once you pass that, you wont want to give it up. Also, read the posts here so that you can fine tune the Storm.

Keep your 8900.

The Storm has many interesting and compelling novelties, and even some useful breakthrough functionality, but speaking from experience, none of it makes up for its flaws: it's half-baked, very buggy, typing is frustrating, battery life is bad, and the list goes on.

You will find apologists (owners) who will say "it's not all that bad" or "you'll get used to it."

To that, I say, the device compromises what makes a Blackberry a Blackberry: no nonsense productivity. If that means anything to you, the Storm is not the device for you.

If I could get an 8900 device on Verizon, I'd be on it in a heartbeat.

The curve on VZ does sound great, but then I would prefer the 8900 for its speed and stability right out of the box.

Storm issues, as you all say are vivid and extensive. However, from experience using the 4.2 on the pearl, and then with update to 4.5, I saw major difference in performance. I guess it would either take a nice OS Update, maybe the 5.0 or the next Storm 2 to get that accelerometer to work right.
