Unable to open attachments - Unable to send picutres

I am unable to send a photo as an attachment - Transaction Error - Bad Format. I called Telus Data Support, and they walked me through lots of things to try and get it to work. During that time we realized that I can not open any attachments. They show up with a grey icon with a question mark, and I can not select "open attachment". Telus found that one of their test phones didn't work either.. They can't help at all..
Can anyone help?
