Default BES Activation Failure - Blackberry Messenger and Firewall Manager Fail

Please Login to Remove!

Hello All,

I have a Blackberry 8310 running v4.2.2.170 which can not complete the BES activation process....During the activation the Blackberry Messenger and Firewall Manager fail which causes the overall activation to bomb out.

Unfortunately the USB connector on this device is broken so I can't upgrade to v4.5.....Does any one have an insight or ideas? I've searched around and can't find anything on this one.

Thanks!

Are you activating OTA or threw the wire?

What steps have you taken to try and resolve this?

Wipe device? Delete BES account and retry add the account?

I'm trying OTA because of the broken USB port...Data will not traverse the USB port

The device has a lot of contacts and associated business/person data on it so Ixxx8217;m trying at all costs to not wipe it.

I have tried deleting the account and readding I would say three or four times now.

Thats all I've done.....I'm not aware of anything else to try given the unfortunate USB situation

Find another USB cable, backup the device using Device Manager, then wipe the device delete BES account, then re-add as SteveO has suggested.
