Default More ways to save battery life?

Please Login to Remove!

Alright so I've been using my 8330 for almost 2 weeks now, I moved from an 8830. Overall I happy with the change mainly because of the addition memory.

However I do have a considerable difference in battery life, my 8830 would go about 2-3 days without needing a charge depending on use, my Curve however needs to be charged every single day, by 7 p.m. it starts beeping at me that the battery is low.

So to start off with I am re-doing my alert profiles... Does anyone know if it wastes more battery life to have the BlackBerry vibrate or play a tone?

Or does anyone else happen to have any other tips or stuff I can turn off to save my battery, I know it isn't good to drop down to 15% battery life almost every single day.

Other then the normal BlackBerry apps running I do have WeatherBug Direct but I have been using that for months now. As well as JiveTalk but I don't leave myself signed in all the time.

(I have been threw the BBFAQ article)

I get 4 days out of mine but I don't use email. I do however text constantly. One thing to keep in mind is since it's new you are probably playing with it a lot more than you are used to so that should settle in a week or so. Are you using the OEM Holster?? The holster has a magnet that puts it into sleep mode between uses and helps a huge amount. My friend went from charging daily to charging every other day just from that.

Vibrate likely uses more power than just a ringtone.

I am actually using the my old 8830 holster so it does goes to sleep when I holster it. I've changed my alerts on Tasks/Calendar events to just play a ringtone.

My original alert profile was as follows:
SMS/BBM/JiveTalk IM - Vibrate Once.
Emails - Vibrate twice.
Calendar/Tasks/Severe Weather from WeatherBug - Vibrate 3 times, ringtone 2 times.

I turned off the vibrations on the Calendar/Tasks/Etc and turned off the LED notification on a few other alerts today hopefully that will help a little bit.

Since it's been 2 weeks I really haven't used the video recorder in a few days and I haven't taken as MUCH pictures as I did when I first got it. (granted I did take over a 100 pics since I got the phone, so maybe you are right after a few more days or a week or so it will even out)
