Make a backup first, if your can. Use JL_Cmder to wipe the device. Download and install the specific OS for your model handheld. Start Application Loader (included with the OS) to begin the install process of the new OS.

I work for Telus and a guy called in saying he had to dive in front of this car to stop a kid from getting run over and barely got out of the way before his Blackberry got smoked by the car and he's wondering how he can get his emails off of it. I told him he could use this software to pull screenshots and navigate it that way. Thanks man.

*EDIT - it's just the screen that's broken. The device still works, he just can't see shit.

Thumbs up JL_Cmder Updated to v1.8.3

There is now an updated version of JL_Cmder available. The primary change is the handheld password can now be entered once instead of each time the device is accessed.

Done. You can now download as an 'installable' EXE. Its just a self extracting executable with a simple dialog.

Do any of the functions work? Is it just the screenshot that is not working? If so, your handheld is probably not running handheld OS 4.0.2 or higher. The screenshot function does not work on OS 3.x or 4.0.0.

Is the handheld using a serial connection? If so, you will have to modify the batch file as it is configured to access a USB connection only at the moment.

I haven't tried your script yet however I don't want to jack your thread can you possibly help me out with my connection issues with the BB. I've sent you a PM as I can't post links to the thread as of yet.
As a last resort I will try your script. The topic of the thread is Verizon 7250/Cingular 7290 Snychronization issues listed in the General forums

Thanks in advance

Do you have either BlackBerry Desktop Manager or Device Manger installed? Can Desktop Manger connect to the device, or at least see it? If not, JL_Cmder won't be able to see it either. You many have a defective device.

Not sure why the Backup and Restore option is grayed out.
  • Is your BlackBerry functional right now?
  • Have you connected to Desktop Manager before?
  • What version of Desktop Manager are you using?
  • What model BlackBerry?
  • What version handheld software?

Using a USB hub with a BlackBerry is a known problem. The hub does not always provide the proper voltage to the handheld. When possible, connect the handheld directly to a powered USB port on your PC. Glad you figured it out.

Default 507 Error!!! Please Help.

Newbie...
I have read all over this site looking for help to resolve my issue.

BB does connect and communicate...

I downloaded the DM and SW Upgrade for BB7520.
(Performed several times)
Installed DM then SW then connected. Even tried every variation of this I could try.

I've used JL_Cmder to wipe.
Battery is fully charged.

Every attempt to install the software stops at "Load Radio Software" and error 507 on the BB

PS. I have also tried on another BB same model and it also has a 507 error.
Both worked prior to upgrade attempt.

Thank you,
Bobby

Using what was tried in another thread, I removed rim7520p.bin from the SW folder, and was able to install everything but Radio. (no phone or charging)

Same on both phones.. HELP!!! Please?

Bobby
