Thumbs down I really hate my Storm

Please Login to Remove!

I've had this unit for 4 months and can't stand it. From the constant question notifications when changing BACK to the previous screen, to the horrible lag and the lack of intuitive usefulness when utilizing the speaker phone feature...then back to keyboard...then trying to check your email or make a note of the conversation you are involved in, tonnes of accidental hang up on clients, too long to switch from the vertical to horizontal screen...and on and on.

I think that RIM should recall these units and provide a free upgrade.

Real crap.

Willing to sell it asap...mint condition if anyone wants this junk.

What OS are you running on the device?

If you upgrade to the latest OS, 5.0, you may like the device better as there are a lot of improvements.

definiitely try upgrading to 5.0 OS. It's widely known that the first Storm is plagued with problems. The OS upgrade should help.

IMO, if you're dead-set on touchscreen, you might want to check out something other than BlackBerry. Do some research! Even with the Storm 2, BB's just aren't up to snuff in the touchscreen department when compared to other smartphones.

I'm using version 4.0.0.122

I'll give 5.0 a try.

Any tweaks?

Thanks

Big difference from 4.7.0.122 to 5.0.0.328

Do a backup and then a Security Wipe of the device first, before the upgrade.

Is there anyway of updated via the 8gb memory card I have installed in the unit? My wifes USB dongle to pc for the pearl is not compatible with the 9530. I can hook it up via bluetooth to my notebook if that will work?

No, you can't do an upgrade via a media card or dongle.

Didn't a USB cable come with the Storm itself?

I purchased the cable. Couldn't find the original.

I'm on the Bell network and was wondering if the 5.0 software will work and hope that someone can supply a link?

Thanks.
