On the Facebook app., why do none of my old (exisiting/current) Facebook messages show in my Facebook Inbox ?

I see new messages appear in the notifications section but none of my existing messages, but I'd like to be able to continue my existing conversations via my BB.

Is this not possible?

I've noticed that everytime you delete all of your messages in your sms inbox it deletes everything even bbm messages. So I don't know if there is a way to change that.

I have a feeling the thinking behind it is that having the FB app. running constantly uses a lot of battery as it self-updates, so the inbox messages are sent to your BB instead of you leaving FB running and checking it regularly.
