It does for me, if you did the pairing properly and it does not work i would delete it and try to re-pair it again. If it still does not work then id say you have a defective headset, I have had mine for over three months and it has worked perfectly since day one every day.

Default Pairing up a Bluetooth headset to a BlackBerry

Make sure the headset is turned on, and set for pairing (you do this by holding the button down and not releasing it until you see the steady blue light, normally when you depress the button you let it go when it starts to blink but now you will have to hold it until it stays solid blue). Go into Main screen, options, bluetooth, press wheel, choose add a device, it will search for the device. Once it finds it it will ask you for the password, ussually this is set to 0000. Once it gets the password it should pair the device and show it on the list. Once it has paired, go to the device on the list, press the wheel and select device properties. In here look for trusted device and select that, click the wheel, and choose yes. That option will activate everything when you turn the headset on without having to further ok it on the handheld. I hope that this helps you in setting things up the right way.
