Default I need some help

Please Login to Remove!

Tonight I have not been able to enter my password correctly or shall I say it has not been accepting my password. I am on the 10th time before lock up. For some reason, it seems the password was changed. Can it be locked remotely by someone else? How can I get into my 7290 blackberry? Is there an override feature?
Thanks,
cjay

Default hackers

My keyboard is not able to unlock. I previously set it to lock out at 10 times and I have one more attempt. Is it possible for a remote hacker to shut me out? I have had a hacker to shut me out of e mails etc. so I would really not be surprised. Is there any way to protect your information and password on the BB from hackers? Does anyone know how I can reset this information to unlock my keyboard?

I believe the 7290 "just" does a wipe if you hit your ten password limit. So once you've tried ten times, the unit will be wiped then unlocked. I may be confused with what version does this, but I seem to recall something about it..

Lightbulb Virus....

There's a brand new virus that's just appeared that only effects blackberrys, specifically the 7290. It spreads by email. It causes your handheld to freeze randomly, and when the keyboard lock is turned on (such as when you put the device into a case), prevents you from unlocking the device if you use a password. The only known workaround that prevents the complete wiping of the device after too many incorrect password attemps is to contact UPS and ship your blackberry to BlackBerryForums user CK99a...

sorry, couldn't resist
(thanks to Soupy Sales for this one )
