Default 8100 questions

Hi,

My 8100 crashes frequently. It does that whenever it plays wma files (which it can) and when it plays any other non phone sound, such as a calculator beep or when I go into profiles and play another tone (i.e. when I play a WMA file, and go into calculator and press delete, it will crash, even if the wma file isn't currently playing and the media player is closed). Any solutions or workarounds, apart from the obvious "don't play wma files"?

In addition, I am running .108 OS. Does anyone know what .109 does? (If it fixes that then great).

However, I am tentative to upgrade just for fun and to find out as I notice it doesn't seem have the Chinese input support and text thingy that my .108 OS from Optus does, and I found it incredibly painful upgrade the first time (it took me hours as it was unsuccessful several times :/) let alone upgrade then downgrade for my Chinese support back.

With my next question being does it have chinese input support? Just because it doesn't have that chinese box . . .

Thanks .

edit: is it a possibility also that my OS could be damaged?

How much memory free does your device have?

File Free: 12874380 Bytes
File Total: 64356352 Bytes

My intuition tells me it's not a memory issue, however. It doesn't do this for mp3 files. I suspect it's a file compatibility error.

How does the device behave when you pull out the media card?

Hehe. Thanks guys. I realise it's almost definitely a WMA issue. But I guess my question is how can I get it to play WMA files without side effects .

I thought about converting but it's a major pain in the bum to convert. I'd really really REALLY prefer not to (I have several gigs of wma files =/. To further add to the problem, to convert, they're lossless, and the only solution I've found so far is to use a command prompt program by microsoft to convert them into wav, which takes ages + uses a huge amount of harddrive space, then I have to convert that into another format like mp3. Even if i'm doing it wrong, my point is it's still a pain). But it would be appreciated if you investigate anyway. Thanks
