Default Transferring address book from 8100 to 7730

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

I am changing phone numbers, and as a sort of grace period, I am going to use both for a short while.

My current phone is a blackberry pearl 8100 and I specifically requisitioned a blackberry from the office in order that I may be able to copy the address book from my 8100 to the 7730 (as it turned out - this was the only blackberry available. I know it's ancient.)

After backing up my 8100 in the usual way (desktop manager -> backup), and pressing advanced to restore (i.e. copy) the address book to the 7730, it is greyed out. Does anyone know how I can copy the address book?

Thanks!

Try doing an advanced backup and only backing up the contacts (not the entire device). Then do the advanced restore on other device. Try that and see if it works.

Nice. That worked (can't believe I didn't think of that one myself but then again I thought it didn't matter because it's just the address book component). Turns out "Address book - All" (which is backed up when doing the standard backup) and "Address book" (which isn't, and is slightly smaller; I'm guessing this got rid of the one picture I have for a contact), are different and incompatible.

Thanks heaps.
