I am a new BB user, (new smartphone user period), and was just wondering if anyone would recommend downloading a different browser, such as Opera Mini, to replace the pre-loaded BB/Rogers one? Is it worth it?

Also are there any other changes, or downloads, strongly reccomended for the Bold? Or Blackberrys in general? Thanks.

I've been having problems with old software making my Bold seize up, but I can say I haven't had problems with the Google software I've been using. I use Google Maps regularly, and prefer it over blackberry Maps. Gmail's alright too. If you're on Twitter, there's TwitterBerry... Right now those are the only things I've installed.

I thought the browser on the Bold was supposed to be much improved. Why would you want Opera?

I loaded Opera just to check out the difference. The Blackberry Browser is much better IMHO. When zoomed out of a webpage it renders the page much better than Opera. It seems that Opera zooms out too much and you can't really see much of the webpage except the general layout. At least with the Blackberry browser you can still see/read headings and whatnot before zooming in. Opera is now uninstalled!

download the google mobile updater, and locate maps version 2.2.2
This one works, got it to just last night thanks to the forums.

How is Google Reader on the bold? Its my most used app on the iPhone (actually its just a website). Would love to know if its as good or close on the Bold. Its not very good on my curve.
