Never a holster, not too safe for me while getting in and out of a car or possibly bumping it at work which causes it to fall off. I use either the oem bb pouch or just slide it in my pocket on an active day.

My Curve came with a leather pouch, but no belt clip. It is NOT a holster. The holster has a belt clip, and has the magnet. You can tell if you have a "holster" by checking for the magnet. You can simply take a paper clip or other small steel object and see if it sticks anywhere on the part of your "holster" which would correspond to the "bottom" of your bb (near the brass-colored catch for battery)

I think that the leather pouch that the Curve comes in also has a magnet.

BTW, another reason to use the holster, according to the RIM doc that came with my curve, is that it keeps the unit the approved distance away from your body, reducing RF radiation flux. (And by the same token, that's why you should ALWAYS use a bluetooth for talking on it.) I know there is a lot of controversy regarding whether or not this RF can hurt you, and BB is clearly on the side of CYA. Nonetheless, mobile phones, especially smartphones, have not been around long enough for any cancers to create significant statistics. If you want to be a guinea pig in this global experiment, go ahead. I prefer to protect my brain and 'nads.

I use the same holster/pouch or whatever you wanna call it. I think you have it backwards though, unless that's just a picture offline. I always thought it went in the other way.

I prefer the holster.. Saves battery life and keeps it protected..

Besides I have enough crap in my pockets during the day.

Plus it looks cool.
