Default 7280 Error Code 507

Please Login to Remove!

Hmm....Got an error message with a picture of a rectangle with a circle, square and triangle in it, with a big circle with a line across it and the number 507 at the bottom.
Remove battery and reset, same thing.

Suggestions?

Thanks!

I think 507 is the error code for "out of memory" is the device recognized by the descktop manager? If so you may need to download the javaloader.exe (do a search) I'm sure it's been posted on the forum. Device may require a clean wipe and re-install of the OS.

507 means no operating system found. You will need to reload the OS, per finch's note.

Default Error 507

My 7510 blackberry all of a sudden stopped to charge the battery and the indicator stopped to appear. I was almost 100% sure that the battery was bad, so I bought a new one. The same problem continued. I thought that maybe it was a software problem cause lately the blackberry sofware was slow and crashing. With all of this going on, I could intellisync with my computer (the computer could detect the blackberry). I decided to install again the blackberry software hopping that everything would be ok. Now:
* The blackberry has the error 507
* The computer recognizes the blackberry. When it is Uploading the BB software everything goes fine until the step 2 "wait for handheld system initialization" starts. The blackberry screen shows again the 507 error and then when the step 3 "Load the radio software" finishes another screen appears on my computer monitor saying:

Unable to complete the loading operation
"A fatal error has occurred while updating your handheld's software. Please try again.Device communications error encountered. [P:0x0000000E]"

I've tried to remove the desktop manager as well the handheld software and reinstall again with both versions 3.7 and 4.0. The program does the same thing.
I also tried to delete the vendor.xlm file and nothing happens.
What should I do?

Are you connected directly to your PC or via a hub. I've had that problem when connecting via a hub. Also, that's been seen with some laptops.

Try loading the OS again, plugged directly to the USB port on the PC. Other than that, it could be hardware

Default OS Restore

I managed to delete the operating system from my 7180 blackberry when I tried to clear the data. Can you tell me how to re-install the operating system. I tried using the data loader but I had not backed it up before the deletion. (I used someones advice to set the password and then let it fail 10 times).

Thanks,

Hey, did you have any luck?

I just tried updating my 7100t, but i got the 507 code.

How do I go about cleaning my 7100t (using javaloader.exe?) and reinstalling the OS (should I be using the Desktop Manager to install the OS)

Thanks guys

A "507" means there is no operating system found. The load failed.

You do not need to run Javaloader - there is nothing to erase. A 507 means it was already erased.

Make sure you have the latest version of the handheld O/S loaded onto the PC. Then connect the BB and start Desktop Manager. The OS should reload.

The Desktop Manager does not recognize when I attach my 7100t to USB.

I made sure under connections that it chooses USB, but when I press DETECT, it find nothing. Any other suggestions?

BTW, I downloaded the lasted Desktop Manager and Handheld software.

Run the Application Loader. It should detect your USB device. Follow the prompts from there. Make sure you check the boxes for all the apps you want to install.

Ok. At first my laptop wouldn't detect it. So I Loaded Desktop manager and handheld updates to my desktop. It recognized my 7100t the first time. It loaded everything successfully. But when I took it out from USB port, the hourglass stayed on for like 7 minutes. I took out the battery and same thing. It doesn't showing anything but the hourglass. Anyone's blackberry takes this long to load?

btw, i still didn't get past the hourglass. i'm worried why it doesn't load anything even after updating.

It can take up to 20 minutes to load the software. Let it go. If you popped out the battery in the middle, I have no idea what condition your BB is in.

Thanks for all your help. The phone turned on and it works

For some reason my laptop always gives me problems (couldn't restore backup), but my desktop does not.
Anyone know why?

Thanks!

Are you using a hub or straight through to the PC/laptop? I've had all sorts of problems when using USB hubs.

Using the USB connection on back of the laptop (no hub). I actually figured to try the desktop route since earlier you wrote that hubs and some laptops had issues with USB connection recognizing the blackberry. Can't figure why it would matter though...

My 7290 does the same thing, we are using v3.6 and i'm wondering if a copy of the newest version of the desktop manager will fix?
