Hey All,

So I had moved a client from a Bold 9000 to a Torch and during the whole process he backed up the original phone, but also did a full secutiry wipe to get it onto the new BES.

Probably not the best steps I took but it's all done.

The issue that happened is the client did not have any photos or video restored.

I found this ABC blackberry 'convertor' that lets you open an .ipd backup file and recover anything. e-mail, photo, video, tasks, you name it.

Problem is I was going to purchase the software and I can find no way to do it.

I believe the company stopped selling it either due to RIM or some other reason.

Either way, I need a method of going into an .ipd file to extract the photos that were 'lost'

recovering to the old blackberry does not seem to bring the photos back, but I know they exist from when I used a trial of this software.

ABC Amber is the only one I know of to do that and they are no longer supporting the product for whatever reason. Have you tried a Google Search or checked BB App World?

I don't know how I did it, but I grabbed the old device and did a restore, and this time the photos and vids came back!

Or it can be left open in case anyone knows about another pgoram. I would still find it useful for the future.

berrygrab.com is the best active ipd extractor I am aware of.

Doesn't do pictures/videos though but handy to get lost contacts and export to .csv
